Why does my computer slows down, when connected to the internet?

It seems like the internet is pulling all my ram. People who respond to this, I already know about the deframenting and cleaning the disk up. I know about the MSCONFIG to not start any programs up. When opening the internet explorer, it takes longer than expected. There is no virus or adware spyware. I got ccleaner and Kaspesky internet security. I have a Hp pavilion a1310n, 1.0 GB memory, 200 gb hard drive. dvd burner. I don't know what the problem is. Any help?

Is your computer behind a router or connected directly to the modem? If it is connected directly to the modem, then your computer is probably very busy fending off the endless stream of connections from China and Turkey trying to exploit your computer.

I suggest that if you don't already have a router, that you buy one and have that handle all of the Chinese and Turkish hackers so that your computer can do other more useful things.

u didnt tell about the ram available...................still it requires min.512 mb ram for gooo internet connectivity
Are you on dial-up or broadband? If dial-up, then it will be slow. If broadband, check with your ISP and see what upload and download speeds it it providing.
