Can't Install Kaspersky Internet Security 6, Because the AVG ver 7.1 free ed was previously ins

I cant install KAV IS 6

the installation screen says that : "Attention! Some incompatible software is installed on your computer. These applications cannot be used together with Kaspersky IS 6.0. In order to proceed with the installation, remove these application."

AVG Anti-Virus

I have had AVG free edition, ver 7 or 7.1 I think..

I had it uninstalled more than a year ago.. actually.

Now I can't uninstall it bcoz it's gone from my uninstall programs' list

I did uninstall it properly.

Maybe some of the registry from AVG still in my window's reg

I had used registry mechanic.. but no use..

I had contacted Kaspersky.. they told me to contact ppl from AVG. But I can't since they only give support to subscribers..

I haven't tried posting at their forum though

Is there anything like Norton removal tool, but for AVG ?

There must be some AVG support program/s still running on you computer, the name may not AVG related. One way to resolve this is to install AVG again, which the programs and processes that are installed during setup. You can identify those process by checking the time they are installed. Then remove them all together. Norton does something like that, too.
