Job computer IT field?

Iam 30 , having very poor college records but have good math skills.Also i dont have any work experience in software field.But iam confident on proving my talent once if i get a chance.dotn know on what to concentrate , like to study java or comp architecture c c++ with linux kernels or databases or security networking.ANy suiggestions are welcome.Thanks

Apply for a lot of entry level jobs. Plus if you can take some Microsoft certification classes and pass, that will help a lot. You need your foot in the door. Once you are there, you can get experience, prove yourself and expand.

If you like a heads down work auditing or analysis may be what you want. It requires the ability to cover many applications, like code, and figure out if they are safe. Certifications and training are your best bet.

If you like saving the day, you'll need to know about system security and attack methods, again training in network and routing protocols, log analysis and vulnerabilities will server you well.

For security architects, you'll need to understand how to design security into a application and a network. Training in network and/or application design would be helpful.

For analysis and auditing, certification and training in IT audits and a CISA certification is beneficial.
