Also am running Norton Internet Security software.
My new computer with XP and IE6 won't run streaming video. Any ideas?security
go tohttp://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/... and install. most streaming video needs this player to run. you may also have to disable your firewall to have it play.

depending on what the file you're viewing is depends on what codec or software you need to view it.
solutions:
1. d out what program they use and download the codec or software
2. ensure Norton is "allowing" this feature
install sp2, and sp3 from microsoft and virtual machine from java(microsystems)
very important xp doesn't come with virtual machine.
what internet connection do you have
may be that norton blocking check it!
Make sure you have all plugins required to play video
Same here, I downloaded the latest windows media player and it works fine now.
The big thing is...
Your internet connection (if you have cable or DSL, then you should be ok).
Also, the Rams may not be enough and need to be upgraded...
Also, check your Video card, and make sure its up to date, and as powerful as you need it...
I wish you well..

You have to ADD your Windows Media player to the APPLICATIONS list on the Norton Internet Security firewall section.
Good luck.
I think that you have to cut off the firewall so that the video will play
well install latest version of windows media player %26 install XP service pack 2.
