Why won't my computer connect to my router?

I have Verizon online DSL with a Westell modem, and a Linksys WRT54G... I have DHCP enabled (automatic configuration) and I redid the ip from 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.2.1 and cloned the MAC address.. it was the only way to get my ethernet cabled PC connection to access the internet via the router. So my PC is connected fine, I logged into my router settings via 192.168.2.1 and setup my router name and enabled WEP security and saved the settings. Now when I go to my laptop to try and wirelessly connect, it won't ask me for a key or anything and just says "windows is unable to connect to this network" but if i try and connect to my neighbors it asks for a network key...I'm running Vista Ultimate... any ideas?

Connect to the router. Disable DHCP. Unplug the cable in the WAN jack and plug it into one of the other jacks. (Your modem is a router, so you're running two routers. That's a double network address translation.)

run XP, that works better.
