If I Change my XP computer to Windows 98 can i change it back?

I recently brought a second hand Laptop that had XP on it, but because I want to use it to do something with it that can only use 98, I need to put 98 on. But I don鈥檛 want it to stay that way. Can I revert it back to XP if I don鈥檛 have the disk (Broke it about a year ago 鈥?It鈥檚 not a Pirate version or anything) but do have a security code (But for Windows 2000 Professional)? Or would I just have to buy another copy of XP?

I wouldn't suggest going back to Windows 98. I don't think there would be anything you can do on 98 that you can't do with XP.

You can always borrow the disk from anyone else you know who has XP and reinstall it. There shouldn't be any problem with that. I have had to do it a few times after viruses wiped out my computer (I had lost my original disk that I got with my laptop but was able to use the disk that I got with my desktop).

You could also consider upgrading from XP to Vista if you decide to order a new disk (I wouldn't bother paying to get XP when it is on its way out and will be replaced with Vista eventually anyway).
