I am running webroot spysweeper and Norton internet security both on my laptop. Do I need to use bot

are they the same type of protection for my computer or do they each have specific function? Which is the better of the two

Personally, I dislike NIS for being a resource hog and expensive, but it is decent AV protection. Spysweeper is good at removing spyware, I like it. You should keep both, because each has a specific function.

NIS is designed to be Antivirus, Firewall, Antispam, and while Norton tries to include spyware removal, it isn't that good.

On the other hand, SpySweeper is specifically designed to remove spyware only. It'll pickup and remove lots of spyware, but it doesn't pick up viruses.

Hope this helps

dump the norton 'bloatware' it's crud: get AVG or avast! never used the other.
run both, there's always something one will miss and the other may not, most people that have been on the web a while use two or more, just make sure they dont scan at the same time.
Only one, pick the one you want, two is no good, they conflict with each others.
No. Norton sucks. Get rid of it. But be careful. It's very hard to uninstall Norton products.
Not really. Although both are decent products, Norton scored extremely high in recent tests for Spyware detection. You're really just wasting resources. Incidently, Norton in itself is a bloated resource hog. A far better choice would be Kaspersky aka Active Virus Shield. AVS's detection rate is as good if not better than Norton and it doesn't leave the huge footprint.
Yeah do both, I have both. Spysweeper works better in my opinion but be on the safe side and use both!
I understand that it is harmful to have two security programs on the computer. Delete one.
