Hi guys, I was using Norton Internet Securty software to protect my computer. But it has expired. i was wondering if there are any other products that are better or is Norton a good one to keep using. I have heard of ones calles "Zonealarm", and "Avg" any of those good? I want something that protects me completely from everything.

You say, "I want something that protects me completely from everything." Well...

If you run Windows, you CANNOT be protected from everything. You see, Windows itself is vulnerable at the kernel level. Every virus scanner, every malware protector, the best and properly configured firewall program - all cannot protect you from a successful exploit of your kernel's vulnerability to external attacks.

One wrong click with Internet Explorer and your system joins a zombie farm and comes under the COMPLETE control of others. The latest patch to IE was explicitly for this reason - yet IE remains vulnerable to such exploits. The problem really is, the kernel and IE are intertwined, so cannot be isolated. What can reach the kernel can control the kernel. Up to 99% of Internet-connected home computers running the Microsoft Windows operating system are zombies.
