I set my laptop default security system to mcafee and now it won't turn on!?

what to do?!! anyone else had this problem? do you know what to do? do you think the fact that my computer won't turn on is because i just set mcafee as my default or is it coincidence? it is an old laptop (5 year old Dell) i haven't had any problems with it ever until now! help!!

It is hard to believe that just installing a software program will prevent a computer from turning on. Hardware changes have the capability to do it.

Is the computer not turning on at all? or it is not booting into windows?

If it's the prior, then probably something has broken physically and you should consider visiting a service center or computer expert to get it working.

If it is the latter, then you can press F8 at the startup windows logo to get more options to start Windows in Safe mode and then you can uninstall the program or choose to restore the system (assuming you have Windows XP) from Start --%26gt; Programs --%26gt; Accessories --%26gt; System Tools --%26gt; System Restore.
