I purchased kaspersky internet security and I can't get it to download. I can't get the cd

It starts and then shuts down immediately and I can't use it. The computer will play a music cd but it won't read the cd rom. Any suggestions.

Sincerely wish that I had a technical answer to your problem. If your CD drive reads the music data then I see no reason why the data on Kaspersky is not being read, unless the disk is "blank".

If you have a neighbor with a PC, perhaps they will allow you to insert the CD into their CD drive to see if there is actually readable data on the Cd.

Or you may have to take the CD back to where you purchased with your receipt and tell the store that the CD shows no data. Ask them to put the CD into their PC and see what happens.

Right now, at UPS I'm making around $108 a week(working 3rd shift) I go to a tech school, I have recieved my A+, Security +, and Network +

I'm not getting any experience working at UPS, so i'm thinking of starting my own PC repair business.

I've checked,and the average per hour here in Louisville is like $50 an hour.

Do you think I can make more than that(at UPS) with my own business? And if so, what should I charge if most places are charging $50. I live at home, and no bills, so I don't really have any overhead. By the way, I'm 19 years old.

I'm currenty in the PC repair business and you can certainly make more than $150 a week. Here's what I recommend to get started: since you haven't done this before, I'd start out charging a little less than what others are charging. You can get that info from maybe the yellow pages, call some of the other shops and get an idea of what they charge.

Maybe you could start out charging $40 an hour on site and maybe $50 flat fee if they drop it off to you. That way there's no pressure to get it repaired right away. But you should still repair the PC to the customer's satisfaction because you want them to be a return customer and you can also use them for referrals.

There's a whole lot more into the PC repair business but this should get you started for now. Make sure you do your homework before you quit your day job.

I am using XP pro. When ever I open my internet explorer 6 on my desktop automatically it opens a page of a blog site, I tried to change the default settings to mail.yahoo.com by opening internet options but it wont allow me to change. I tried everything, like running ccleaner, Spybot, Ad-aware SE, Anti-virus (CA security) in safe mode, but no success. I also see a name of a person on the blue line of top of the webpage. Earlier it read for eg: "yahoo answers - internet explorer" but now I read "yahoo answers - Sandeep Verma" . I am so irritated as the blog site hangs my desktop. Please suggest some effective way to get rid of this issue. By the way, I did not set any restore point on my desktop, as I was ignorant about it. Thank you all in advance.

Punch the name of the site into google. You should be able to find out how to get rid of it there. You will sometimes have to go into the registry and do some editing.
Hop on over to Windows Live OneCare and run a scan if all else fails..

It seems to work very well! But it is very sensitive! Even if a program has changed for the better (like a windows update) It alerts you. Or if you change your access# (dial-up users) It warns you of an unauthorized phone#. I guess thats Good in a way? I know this: SO FAR! It has worked better than anything I have used. Panda is very good. I use it on my desktop. I has greatly improved over the years and uses less system resources than it used to, but has lost none of its quality of protection. Stick with it: it's well worth it!

Plug your computer into a different electrical outlet, make sure your speakers are compatible with your computer, make sure there are no other systems near your computer, such as a stereo, radio, or anything of this nature. It's not usual for speakers to pickup voices. The cell phone population is creating a serious "micro wave" feedback problem. As a last resort, contact a computer store and have them make a service call. Know what I mean?!
